How much can I save each year on my liability insurance?
Discounts vary; we recommend that you contact your liability insurance carrier directly.
Is my company legally required to provide assistance in the event of a medical emergency?
Legislation varies from state to state however, as a private entity it is not likely. The issues that stem from lack of emergency care are more ethical than legal.
Once certified can my employees train other personnel?
A separate training and certification program for trainers would be required.
What is a First Responder?
A person with specialized training that makes it possible for them to assess and control a scene, provide immediate care for life threatening conditions, and prepare for the arrival of emergency medical services.
Why form an Emergency Response Team?
An Emergency Response Team demonstrates that you are a responsible employer; it can reduce time lost due to injury or illness and reduces liability and time spent in litigation.
What are the minimum standards for an Emergency Response Team?
The minimum recommended Department of Transportation standard is a certification level of first responder. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation training is included within this standard of care.
